Inspired by traditional Afro-Brazilian percussion instruments which have surfaces that are not entirely rigid due to imaginary clean cuts that create a cage around a volume. Despite the enclosing appearance, the volume has a vital force that seeks to express itself. The glossy, shiny finishes not only protect but also reveal the luminous heart that is enclosed within them through their dynamic appearance.
